There are food preferences from person to person and place to place. In India, most people prefer to stay vegetarian because the vegetables are available in abundance and it is nutritious or due to some religious beliefs as well. Presently western countries are adopting the vegetarian diet and vegan diet, to stop the cruelty against the animals. Well, that is a good initiative and has resulted positive.
Being a vegetarian is an excellent way to protect the environment and help our fellow living beings, but it can also be a great way to promote hair growth. The options of having the best vegetarian food for hair growth are in abundance in the environment have better skin, teeth, and nails too!
To have good hair growth various nutrients are required for nourishment. You’d have to be a vegan to get all the nutrients from plants, but you could still eat many veggies and other foods to get your share.

1.) Vitamin D – Sunlight is best for this vitamin, but if you’re not a sun lover; you can get some from fortified foods. Fortified means that Vitamin D has been added to the food, but it’s still better to get it from natural sources. You could do this either by going out into the sun more often or by increasing your consumption of nutrients found in mushrooms and fortified plant-based milk.
2.) Protein – Again, you can get this from a variety of sources. Dark leafy greens, beans, and lentils are probably your best bets for getting these nutrients to help grow hair longer.
3.) Vitamin C – This vitamin promotes good health in general and faster growth of the hair follicles. Many fruits and vegetables have this vitamin, and some of them include kale, broccoli, and potatoes.
4.) Biotin – This nutrient is found in eggs, nuts, and legumes such as beans and lentils. Try to buy organic for this one because biotin is particularly susceptible to pesticides.
5.) Iron – Leafy green veggies like spinach can help boost your hair growth as well as your energy levels. It’s a great source of calcium too!
6.) Zinc – This nutrient is found easily in fruits and vegetables such as avocados, legumes, and whole grains. Avoid getting it from junk food because that will probably have other nutrients missing from your diet, which you need to grow hair long.
7.) Omega-3 fatty acids are found in flax seeds, chia seeds, and walnuts. Try to get them fresh rather than through an oil source because some nutrients will be lost if you go that route. Eating a diet rich in nutrients is no guarantee that you’ll grow your hair. Everyone is different, and some people don’t absorb nutrients as well as others, but adding these foods will make a difference!
